Does the Contour Ab Belt Work?

I decided to lend my expertise to answering the question of whether or not the Contour Abs System works. When it comes to fitness with this generation, abdominal appearance is by far the most scrutinized area of the body. Everybody wants six pack abs. There is a plethora of workout plans targeting this growing audience of Ab freaks. So, you are looking to develop and strengthen your abs, but you don’t have a great deal of time, and you want to know if the Contour Abs System will work for you.

I have over 20 years in the fitness industry; I have several degrees and special certifications in fitness and training. I am an abbot advocate for fitness. In fact, as a full time minister now, one extension of my ministry is Master Fitness 21, which focuses on the importance of maintaining a healthy body. I believe in holistic living. Too often in this culture we become fixated on one aspect of something and forget to address the issue in its entirety; leaving voids that corrupt the process. I will answer the question that many want to know: Does the Contour Abs System work? I will also provide insight on obtaining a complete finished product.

I guess you can call me Old School or Old Fashion when it comes to fitness and training techniques. With that being said, I am not normally one that looks at electronic gadgets as a piece of workout equipment. I love technology; I don’t know what I would do without my iPhone and EVO, but when it comes to training, I normally push good old fashion resistance and cardio training. However, I have to say that I became intrigued by the Contour Abs System and its popularity. So, I decided to do some research and present to the public what I found.

Does the Contour Abs System work: The simple answer is: Yes! Using low electrical currents produced by an internal battery, the Contour Abs belt causes the abdominal muscles to contract as they would with any ab engaging exercise. There are several levels of intensity allowing you to vary your workout. The ab belt engages, stimulates and contracts the abdominal muscle group.

When I look deeper into the concerns of some as to the effectives of the Contour Abs System, I found that it was not the system, but poor habits, skewed expectations, and the lack of knowledge of physiological dynamics.

In other words, the Contour Abs Systems works the abdominal muscles group; it is not a substitute for adequate cardio training and a proper nutritional diet. In simple, this product will not get rid of the fat covering the abs, but will tighten and strengthen the abs underneath the fat. When you do the right things to burn away the fat (i.e. proper cardio, proper nutrition) you will find a rather nice set of abs hiding underneath. The Contour Abs System is not a cure all for general laziness, but an exceptional substitute for conventional ab workouts and it allows you to work your abs while doing other tasks or just sitting back enjoying a book.

So not a rip off!

I have a weak lower back and sit ups/crunches kill me! I saw this infomercial and thought it would be worth $14.95 to try the product. I did my month trial and loved it! You can feel it working, I see immediate results and the best thing is, it gets all those problem areas like your love handles and lower belly that are so hard to tone with other exercises. I would definitely recommend it!

Works if positioned properly.

For those of you who believe this product to be garbage or for prospective buyers - Positioning is key!!! If you want this product to work you need to experiment, make sure it is firing the proper muscles. Placing it to high on the abdomen will yield inferior or no results. However, placing it lower down so the contacts are lower adominals right above your groin makes a huge difference. After using it for 2 weeks and not even feeling the slightest bit sore I started playing with the placement of the gel pads minus the belt (was easiest that way) and found that even an inch to high and you won't fire all the muscles properly. In short, if it isn't making you sore and you're not seeing results adjust the posistioning, once you get it right you will start to experience your entire upper body trying to perform a slight curl every time the unit fires. Also check the strength, it WILL be slightly uncomfortable if it's working.

A friend of mine actually let me try a full cycle of the contour ab belt and I could literally feel my muscles getting a full workout as if I were doing crunches.

Contour Belt works for me

I have been a fitness professional for my entire adult life (am now 56). I have always been slim, and with a flat abdominal region but after two children I could not ever get the abdominal definition I wanted...but kept trying. I taped the infomercial and watched it over and over before sending for it. I finally purchased the belt with the additional back pad. I am thrilled with the abdominal results, I see more definition that I ever have, my abs are tighter and it appears that some of the skin in the ab area is tighter. I am not as enthusiastic about the back pad. Refiguring the wire hook ups was a puzzle to me and my husband (!) and when I did get it attached it wasn't impressive so I took it off. I love the belt though, I really do. I understand there are others on the market but I have no experience with them to comment on or make a comparison.

These are just a few.

The question arises: Would I recommend this product? Most definitely; it does what it says it does, you simply have to do your part.
With the special trail that is going on now, this would be a great time to give it a test spin to see if it’s a good fit for you.
